The Vegetable Fair

If there is one thing that I absolutely hate about school it is the Vegetable Fair.  I guess it is a LONG tradition at Circleville Elementary, and I am sure every other mother hates it too!  I usually, somehow, talk the kids out if it.  But this year all three wanted to participate.  GREAT!  Abby and Myndi wanted to do it together, so that wasn't so bad. It was actually pretty easy.  Amy, who is such a sweetheart and so patient, got tired of waiting for me and did it all on her own!  I didn't get a picture of hers, but it was a mushroom house.  It was so cute.  I love that girl, she is so happy and so independent.  Gavin on the other hand was too busy PLAYING and didn't get it done the night before. So at the last minute we were trying figure something out!   Grr...!

They called this the "Crazy Vegetable Woman"

This was Gavin's pirate ship!

Snake and Snails and Pupppy Dog Tails

The other day the door bell rang.  When I went to answer it guess what I found?!  Yep a little water snake in a cup.  I didn't even ask how they got the snake in the cup.  In my nice, not frantic, voice I told them it was nice and that they had to put it back in the ditch.  They were so proud of what they had caught they tried to stop cars on the road to show them what they had found.  Finally JJ Ramos pulled over.  They are so cute!  I am sure this won't be the last snake they bring home.

I think the boys felt bad that I made them take the snake back.  They really
wanted to take it to school for show and tell.

See ya later!  I hope it stays on the other side of the road!

Abby's Birthday

Wow I can't believe that Abby just turned 10! She is growing up so fast.  I can't express how much we love this girl.  She is growing into such a sweet beautiful young lady.  She tries so hard to do what is right.
This year her birthday fell on a Sunday.  We went to church and they sang to her during primary.  After church we had a birthday dinner of cream cheese chicken and green salad.  Later that day Abby had a violin recital in Tropic.  So we went over to that.  When we got home we had cake and ice cream and opened the rest of her birthday presents.

Look she is big enough to light her own candles.

She is getting so pretty.  This is her favorite biirthday outfit.

Happy Birthday Abby!  We love you so much!

1st Day of School 2012

I can't believe that summer has come to an end and school is starting again. I do think that the kids are ready to be back with their friends. (Even though we played with them almost EVERY DAY of the summer anyways!)

Abby is a 5th Grader this year and has Miss Laura for a teacher.

Amy is a big time Kindergartner! She goes from 8:00 AM to 1:30.  She has Miss Schear.

Gavin is a 3rd grader, and has Miss Kristy.

I love the first day of school, and the first week.  After that they have worn all their new clothes and then it all becomes just work!  Good luck this year kiddos!  Love you!

Gingerbread Houses

We were walking through Wal-Mart when Gavin saw these Gingerbread house kits at the end of an isle.  We were almost done with our 1 1/2  shopping trip and I was exsausted of telling the kids NO at every single thing that they wanted.  So when Gavin asked I sighed and told him yes.  He started to  protest, when he realized that I said yes!!!   What a nut!!

Finally after a week of the kids begging to make them, we finally found a night that we could dedicate to Gingerbread houses.    I am so glad that Paul is the "fun" parent, because things like gingerbread houses, carving pumkins, and coloring eggs, are just not things that I love.

After we glued the house together, we hoped in the car and ran to Junction for a hot chocolate while the frosting dried.  When we got back we finished decorating them.  The kids had so much fun.   I think that it might become a tradition at our house!

I was teasing the kids and out of the blue Amy says  "Don't tease me, I'm doing my best work here!"

Gavin didn't want anyone to copy his design!  Hmmm there aren't really many options with what we have to work with!

Next year I think we need to get Sarah her own house to decorate.  We finally had to go put her in bed so she wouldn't keep taking all the candy off everyone else's houses!

Putting up the Tree

The kids were so excited to put the tree up this year, and to decorate the new house.  And I must admit so was I!!! The extra room felt so nice!  I love to watch the kids put the decorations on the tree.  Abby is trying to tell everyone where to put the decorations.  Gavin is tring to put as many as he can on, even if they are all in one spot.  Amy is just ignoring Abby's instructions, and Sarah is taking them off as fast as Gavin is putting them on.   After it is decortated we love to turn of all the lights in the house and enjoy the twinkling lights of the tree.  I love the feeling of excitement that Christmas brings!

Thanksgiving

Every year I am so grateful for all of my many blessing.  It seems sometimes I have more than I deserve.  I am so grateful for my wonderful husband who works so hard for the things we have.  I love him so much.  I am so grateful for my sweet children.  In each child I see so many great qualities.  They bring so much happiness to my life.  I am grateful for my parents.  I know I gave them a lot of stress growing up but I always new that I was loved and they were proud of me.  I am grateful for my sisters and my brother.   I know at the end of the day they will always be there for me.  I am grateful for my home.  I am grateful for my friends.  I am grateful for the gospel in my life.  I have called many times on my Heavenly Father for guidance, for comfort, and for help.  And to him I thank him for all that he has blessed me with.

"We are unaware of the hosts of blessings that we receive from day to day.  It is extremely
important that we have a spirit of gratitiude in our hearts."
